"Highly Strung" by Dave Jones.
The performance of Highly Strung featuring the giant 14 meter puppet took place on the night of October 28th 2011 during the Nati Frinj festival. The puppet took ten people to operate and had animation (largely created by the children at the local primary school) projected onto it from projectors mounted both on the ground and in the head of the puppet itself. Fit into the crowd by Julien-Robert
Piece for bass clarinet, computer and reactive video.
Performed by Krista Martynes, 9 min. 20.
Music and image by Julien-Robert Legault Salvail, March 2011.
"Finding a musical juxtaposition between trying to create security and finding one’s place, Fit into the crowd is based on a visual image of a character trying to musically find that place while keeping the urban security around them, with a tape part of different phrases commonly said for the sake of security like: I shouldn’t step too far out of place; It’s better to not take risks; Art beware, everything has been done."
VIVISECTOR
By Viennaexile
Dance / Performance: Vivisector - Part 2 - Klaus Obermaier, Chris Haring.
VIVISECTOR is an examination of the different speeds of people/nature and technology/information society and their acceleration; an experiment to overcome the space-time continuum in the real world. It breaks the linearity of movement and in doing so shows the absurdity of momentum.
