Video animation / Digital drawing / 3D: weiss by Florian Grolig
In the middle of white is monotone balance, jolly blasé marking time. One definition of space is the absence of embarrassing contact. But gridlock is definitely death.

"one ship encounters a series of notable exceptions" by
Joe Winter 3

Loops of cassette tape are moved through a transparent mechanical armature to create three dimensional line-drawn scenes of one ship's encounters with variously fantastical, formal, poetic, and personal obstacles. Each sculpture in the series depicts a single event in the ships journey through polar waters, such as One ship struck by lightning, twice, and One ship leaves the South Pole, all directions seem north. The soundtrack on the tape propels the loose narrative, and creates a tumultuous foil for the cool, calm, exterior of each piece. The video documentation cuts between the ambient sound of the gallery and excerpts of the sound heard in headphones attached to each piece.

Audiovisual short film: Ionisation by Flat-e.

The project began life as a film to accompany a performance by the London Sinfonietta of Edgard Vareses Ionisation. An inspiring 20th century composer who pioneered works that cross over into the electronic scene of today.
The piece shows what you can achieve when people collaborate in an unventilated environment where superglue fumes outweigh the oxygen 6:1.
